Much easier to secure 109 miles than 1,954. With only 109 miles, much easier to go around through Serbia and then Austria or through Romania. Hungary also doesn't have a huge swath of barren desert to contend with. A wall is only as good as the soldiers available to police it.
So since we have more area to cover we should just not build one? Keep in mind we "have" way more money than Hungary could ever dream of. In fact, we have so much money that Dems are authorizing (might have already approved) $10.8 Billion for Central America and Mexico to strengthen their borders.
How about we break this down to us at individual level's, remove Trump, and discuss this rationally? I don't know where you live, but in the midwest you can easily buy a 4-5 bedroom and 2+ bathroom with a finished basement new/fairly new home for under $450K. A fence with a nice size yard for that home costs between $15K-$35K depending on how elaborate and materials.....So let's just say $25K for simplicity's sake.
Now suppose you buy this home with no fence, and over time it turns out to be in an area where break-ins, drug dealing, and squatters of owned homes like yours are rampant. You now want to protect your family, assets, home, and property. That's natural to want to protect what's yours, right?
You have $50K in the bank, but you have two choices only:
1) You can pay $25K to put a very fantastic, really, truly great (yes, he talks like a douche) fence around your own property, and do something good in your own neighborhood/for your neighbors with the other $25K since you're a very compassionate person that cares about others well-being too (btw, sincerely that's awesome! you're a good person for caring)
2) You can pay all $50K to install a fence that will span the backyards of five of your neighbors the next block over in the hopes that it will keep the crime away from your home, and you will have no money left for your neighborhood.
Which option would you choose, and why?
