Although my post followed yours, it was not in response to it. I was referring to politically charged threads in general. You are entitled to your opinion, although mine may differ from yours. Opinions are not the same as facts even though they may be based on some factual information.

There are a multitude of reasons folks vote for democrats. The Portland metro area has a fairly small percentage of Hispanic or Latino people (of any race): 10.9% (8.5% Mexican, 0.4% Spanish or Spaniard, 0.3% Guatemalan, 0.3% Puerto Rican, 0.2% Cuban, 0.2% Salvadoran, 0.1% Peruvian) and yet this area overwhelmingly and consistantly votes democratic.

In fairness, the 'this' is ambiguous. It could refer to 'faster' and 'over a longer period of time,' just as much as it could to 'wall.'
