WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump's announcement Friday that he was declaring a national emergency wasn't received well by all Republicans, none more vocal than Ann Coulter.

The conservative commentator had for weeks been bashing Trump for what she said was him caving to Democrats over his demands for additional funding to construct a wall along the southern border, even calling him the "biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States".

On Friday, the bickering made its way into a nationally televised news conference where Trump announced his plans to use executive powers to declare a national emergency to free up billions in funds for the proposed wall.

"Ann Coulter. I don't know her. I hardly know her. I haven't spoken to her in way over a year but the press loves saying Ann Coulter, probably if I did speak to her, she would be very nice," Trump said, adding that she is "off the reservation."

Perhaps you are right or maybe Coulter's game is to push the envelope by antagonizing rTump. Incidentally, he already caved. It remains to be seen whether his national emergency proclamation will result in billions of dollars for his wall or total failure due to lawsuits and congress not complying with his requests.

Makes sense to me. This whole affair could be tied up in court for the next 2 years, thus nothing will have happened to build the wall as promised, over and over and over again. I don't know how anyone could have watched his recent SOTU objectively of giving him a fair chance, and not noticed a tremendous amount of growth as POTUS. 76% of America agreed with him, which means he did a helluva job.

When has any President ever admitted flaws or lies??? And again, if you watched his declaration the other morning he actually did say something to the affect of "look I'm newer to this and learning as I go" I can't remember any POTUS ever saying anything remotely close to that.

Just because you refuse to look at numbers or just simply watch him speak while in El Paso where he talked about crime, immigration, drugs, trafficking, etc being a problem and that the wall they've added there has made a difference, and then asked the El Paso, TX crowd, "am I telling the truth?" to which the crowd said "yes", cheered and roared loudly to confirm everything he said......just because you refuse to acknowledge everything right in front of you that tells you it's an issue doesn't mean it's not.
