Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome
« on: February 28, 2019, 01:53:29 PM »
I made a thread on here about 5 months ago I started having terrible BPH like symptoms. It started with extreme urgency burning in my penis and a feeling like I was sitting on a golf ball. The first week or two I tolerated it pretty well. I ended up going to my doctor. I was put on the first of 3 courses of antibiotics. They suspected acute prostatitis. I had a rectal exam, PSA test, and several urine tests all were negative. PSA well below 1.0

I started to get more and more worried. My sympotms got worse. I started losing sleep. The antibiotics were making me lose my appetite and my sense of well being. Cipro is really nasty shit!

About 6 weeks in I actually fell into a severe depression. I just had a baby girl. I felt do disconnected from her and my wife. I stopped sleeping, if I did fall asleep I would wake up with a panic attack covered in sweat. I started having brutal panic attacks during the day. I never really understood what panic attacks were. I thought I was going to die of a heart attack. I started to contemplate suicide I thought I was never going to feel like myself again. My weight went from 215 to 179 at my lowest. Thank God I never missed any work. I dragged myself to and from my job every day. I took 3 months of from the gym. In 15 years I've never take more then a week. My clothes looked like they were falling off of me.

Reluctantly I went and spoke with a physcholigist. They put me on a low dose SNRI. The first 3 weeks were torture the side effects were so terrible.

Once the meds started to kick in I started regaining control of my life again. Symptoms started to dissipate. I was later diagnosed with chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Basically all the stress in my life was causing my pelvic floor muscle to spasm making it feel like a prostate issue.

I had to make some life changes better diet less sugar caffeine etc. I learned to stretch more and not let stress ball me up.

I'm back in the gym, I feel great I'm so in love with my wife my daughter my family friends. I have such a new outlook on life. For the first time I really suffered and came through it.

I want to thank several people from this board. They really helped me get through it. NJflex, stuntmovie, my friend Walter white, prime muscle, Alex and several others. I appreciate the help and so does my family God bless you all!
