There's a lot of things in life and politically you and I appear to agree on, but for the life of me I simply can not wrap my head around how, or why; it came to be that you are on this site, and continue to stay??? You find the negative in everything weight/bb'ing related, and just seem to get great pleasure (or maybe angst) in absolutely bashing every competitor/person in every aspect that is weight training related.
I'm not saying fuck off and go away; as you post some funny shit sometimes, and if we were all the same this place would be very boring. It's just very confusing to me is all
"SIGH"...
So asking a simple, straight forward question about why deadlifting a weight and using straps instead of using your grip is now "bashing every competitor/person in every aspect that is weight training related"?
Damn...I really crossed the line, huh?

I happen to think, not feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel, that holding onto the bar sans any straps is much more impressive than using the straps but I understand the reasoning behind it now. I happen to think the same way about "bench shirts/squat suits and deadlifting suits". No...Actually I think those things are just plain cheating, not to mention nothing more than ego bandaids.

It's like trying to clean and press 200 lbs with a 2.5" inch bar. I could not hold onto the bar no matter how hard I trained my grip. Should I have SuperGlued™ my hands to the bar and then had a friend duct-tape 'em for extra security? I could not hold onto the bar with that much weight.

I am more than certain that is nothing for Strongman competitors as well as genuine GetBiggers. And no. That was YEARS ago and I can't come close to that now and will not even try, LOL!
I am an old wimp now.

I come here for the camaraderie with those of like mind and even those that differ. I have trained across decades and while there really is nothing new under the sun, still the sun rises every day and new opportunities for friendship rise with it. And that along with having a good friend who is long gone now recommend this place, is why I am here.
