priorities=a strange tale

 i used to car pool to work with three other guys for a few years. the one guy bought a car for 250 dollars. when i went to my grandmothers house one of my young cousins had a radio control car. i asked him what he paid for it answer 350 dollars , i had to laugh imagine going to work in a heap that cost 100 dollars less than a kids toy. that isn't even the strange part the guy with the heap bought a stereo system for over 1500 dollars for the car and paid some idiot 100 dollars to install it. the third time out the sub woofer in the trunk burned up and the system sounded like shit anyway. i kid you not.

I bought a '72 Buick LeSabre for $450 in the early 80s.

A friend of mine backed into the drivers side door and from then on I had to enter and exit via the passenger door.

350ci V-8 with 4 barrel carb.

Drove it until the rear end blew out going 120mph.

Junked it for $50.

Looked like this but not as good condition.

This 1967 Dodge Polara is an exact duplicate (same color and model) of our family car from 1971 until 1982, at which point I gave it to my son. It was reliable, gigantic and quite a gas hog.

             when i was in college early 1970's, i had a 1968 one of those got it pretty cheap at the time. mine was silver.

Those old V-8s got about 10-12 miles to the gallon on a good day.

The amount of steel in them was crazy.

Even so they were not safe cars in a crash.  Death traps.
