This may not be the best move by dems from a purely POLITICAL stand pt.
BUT, the GOP prayer leader was asking for GOD and Jesus to forgive the USA over searing in a Muslim member of congress.

The establishment  clause under the 1st amendment prohibits any GOV sanctioned promotion of a specific religion.
While his prayer violates that basic statute, the vast majority of Americans would agree with him.
