Trump was talking about the Great Lakes and, as is often the case, he not only sounds like a retard but he was of course lying

President Trump said at a rally on Thursday that he backed the “full funding” for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, though his 2020 budget proposal calls to cut funding for the initiative by 90 percent.

"I support the Great Lakes. Always have. They're beautiful. They're big. Very deep. Record deepness,” Trump said during his rally in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Thursday night.

“And I'm going to get, in honor of my friends, full funding of $300 million for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative,” he continued.

The president’s budget proposal for the next fiscal year, which was unveiled earlier this month, makes a $270 million cut to the $300 million Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, according to The Detroit Free Press.

The proposed spending cut marks the third year in a row the president has proposed making cuts to the program, which was launched in 2010 to protect and restore the Great Lakes.

Multiple journalists were quick to point out the apparent budget reversal during Trump’s rally on social media.

The good people in the great lakes area do just fine protecting the lakes on their own.  Chances are the majority of issues are along MI.

This is true. No idea about other places so maybe I am spoiled. Grew up literally 10-15 minutes away from Sleeping Bear Dunes, etc. and immediate family still all live there. Pretty pristine areas.

Never been there, but my aunt used to live in iron mountain on a hilltop with a lake view....it was amazing.  She sucks, but she's my mom's only sister so we had to visit from time to time.  The drive there was beautiful.

So many places up north are incredible.  The places I listed, plus door county, ephraim, apostle isles....so many places I went as a kid that I don't even remember the name of.  Wildlife preservation, conservation, appreciation, and proper management are all just a part of life there.   As are big trucks, fishing boats, and guns!

And guess what lefties.....you'll have a really hard time finding people that buy into your global warming/climate change bullshit in these places.  The places where climate change is a huge issue for people are overpopulated, pollution filled (of multiple types), corrupt, and don't know how to manage their city let alone wildlife areas.
