Hey Guys, I know its not what we usually discuss here, but 75 year old Mick Jagger is Sick, and Stones had to cancel their 17 dates North American Tour.

Anyone has thoughts on it? Cancer?

Probably. He said he had to have a procedure. Doesn’t sound like an injury.

News sources are saying it's a postponement, not cancellation.

The source said doctors “found something” that required “immediate attention” and told the singer he needed treatment at a US hospital.

Jagger has been told he will make a “complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible,” according to the band statement.

“This is not a serious thing,” a source close to the band insisted, noting that fans should hold onto their tickets because The Stones are “in the process of rebooking” the 17 scrapped dates of their “No Filter” tour.

Granted it was a few years ago, but I saw the Stones and Paul McCartney at the same venue and Sir Paul moped the floor with Mick. The cock walk/strut is not cool in your 70’s. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Heard it was a heart valve replacement. Some candidates can have minimally invasive surgery for this but many need open heart surgery. Long recover if they crack open his chest.

That's probably it.  Aortic stenosis is the most common valve dysfunction we see with old age, and it can be replaced in a minimally-invasive manner.
 They go through your artery and do it all with wires.  Super cool stuff, it opens up treatment possibilities for elderly patients that couldn't tolerate an open-heart procedure.


The other thing to consider is that the valve has to be soft and foldable to be transported through your blood vessels so it's not as durable as the mechanical prostheses.  Rated for 10-15 years.  So they only really do them for patients that aren't expected to outlive the heart valve
