I actually went through a phase during my mid teens when I listened to a lot of rap (mostly Tupac and NWA). I grew out of it by the time I joined college though. I've since developed a dislike towards it, seeing it for what it is - the most toxic and grotesque aspects of black culture manifested into a musical genre.

A.  Be black.

B.  Come up with a stupid name for yourself.

C.  Take a song that is already a hit and rap some new lyrics over it.  Preferably about drugs, crime, fucking other people's girlfriends, and expensive luxury items.

D.  Get murdered by another black person.
