I'll sometimes listen to the old rap, I'm a big fan of Cypress Hill but the older rap "artists" that's become managers or have created their own labels, most can't stand the this newer rap but they know it brings in a shit ton of $$$
Very true Coach! I like Cypress as well as a few others I left out in my other post.
Pretty much everything after Dre's Chronic and Tupac's last cd is a pile of shit....Eminem being one of the few exceptions. I'm not a fan and never purchased one of his cd's, but he does have a couple good songs, and there is no denying that guy's writing ability. Also, the speed at which he can rap and still be understood is unmatched by any black rapper I'm aware of. It's kind of funny that as far as lyric writing goes, Eminem is by far the best rapper ever.
That all said, I do admit that I like some of the hip-hop/metal mash-ups that are out there. Korn's version of "Got Money" turned a piece of shit into something I jam to while doing cardio.
