To my taste, could have been deeper, but still, fantastic lifting. Good for him.

Aww, it wasn't that bad :)  Norton would stomp and scream across half his gym for minutes before a set like that.  I wish I could find the video of someone mocking his "psyching up"...that shit was a scream! ;)

A few cats asked questions:

In my absolute prime, 1992-1995 while weighing 260-ish I've done 500 for 20 reps. I've done it more than once at Golds Venice and a few other gyms. That was a long long time ago. Sadly that anaerobic power is long gone.

Brother I swear, that foot stomp is almost subconscious. I don't know why or when I started doing it. It's a bit odd, I agree.

When I was much younger I was a successful competitive Powerlifter. Always had the very best coaching, gyms, drugs, everything. Anyone in my position would have had success.
