Wikileaks published the Hillary/DNC/Podesta email fiasco. Without this guy, we'd have no idea about these backstage machinations and Hillary would be president right now. If you're a Trump guy think on that before you condemn him for releasing information.
Without this guy, Snowden would never have been able to tell the world that there is a universal surveillance program. Check the wikipedia page for a list of terrifying things the world would never have learned about without The Gigantic Brass Balls of Julian Assange, who felt a responsibility to put his head in the lion's mouth to let us know what's up.
If something is Top Secret then it's on you, the guy with the Top Secret rubber stamp, to keep it a fucking secret. That's your job. You don't get to be incompetent and then prosecute a journalist like it's all his fault, particularly when everything he said is true and is stuff you shouldn't have tried to hide from us in the first place.
Imo the US will give itself a black eye if it pursues charges. Or if Assange gets hit by a car, or has an accident while in custody, or gets struck by fucking lightening.
And the Brits look like marionettes right now.
