I was comparing his offseason shape to those who were on stage with him. 

I know you've worked out with him recently at Golds, but that aside he is noticeably smaller and less conditioned than those hes on stage with.

I was just saying that because in Dave Palumbo’s video he was saying that people were saying that Shawn wasn’t training. But I agree with the off-season season shape. I don’t discuss it with him but my guess is that he’s completely off gear until his prep starts and he loves to eat. But, he’ll come in shape

I don't understand why YouTube reporters are shocked - most people know that like Levrone, Shawn uses little (to no?) drugs in the off-season. I'm sure he will look great come Olympia time...

You're disregarding the fact that Shawn is the defending Mr.O and Levrone and Ray never won the contest.

And the YT reporter was Dave "Jumbo" Plaumbo,   The guy used a lot of drugs when he competed so i'm sure he was surprised.

Also let's not forgot everyone else on the stage is ON.  

If this is Shawn's normal routine I guess it doesn't matter because this is what won him the O last year but if hes breaking from his normal prep you can see why people are surprised. I'll admit I dont know his previous off season practices.

If drug use doesn't matter why are all those guys on in the offseason, they should just follow Rhodens lead. Ronnie, Jay and Dorian never coasted during the off seasons during their reigns.

And for those who say it doesn't matter, which is 100% true as it only matters what they look like the day of the show, why even have guest posing?  Why post about their off season anything at all? It's because we believe all this matters.

It’s not like he’s been sitting around not training, etc. I know he traveled a shit ton this off-season both here and Europe and just got back from France less than 2 weeks ago. IMO, it doesn’t make sense to stay on gear, train consistently only when you’re home with more time, difficult to eat on while traveling (unless you’re prepping then you pack your food) It only counts the day of the show. I do agree he doesn’t eat all that well in the off-season that I can see. Freak genetics + Aceto = another win (maybe)

And kudos to Rhoden, hes the number one guy in the sport so its obvious he knows what hes doing.

It's just different than what we're used to coming from the reigning champion, from at least Dorian on the Mr. O has spent the off season getting as big as they can (maybe this wasnt true for the year Dexter won but he was still bigger in the off season). So to see Rhoden look like an "average" gym rat (and I mean comparatively speaking) is a little shocking because its soooooo opposite of what we are accustomed to.

Good point regarding defending his title but to be fair, he has always lost size in the off-season. Like you, I am not privy to what his protocols are either.

I watched Trigili's video and Nick Strength and Power's video. I saw Palumbo posted a video 11 hours ago but it runs over an hour, haven't got time to sit around and listen to that...

Slightly off-topic, but has Palumbo ever detailed his cycles - or at least hinted at what he might've taken? Unsure how honest he is, I'm sure this board will have some opinions. I don't tend to spend a lot of time reading/watching bodybuilding related stuff but am interested.
