Maybe thats what the fucking Christianity wants, an eventual Alcohol Ban. Nobody is drinking fuckin "Bible Red Wine" anyways.
Somethings are legal, others not. Its regulation, Taxes and demand.. People should only drink. I personally hate Junkies, but... Its out there, like gambling..

Who mentioned alcohol?

Christianity has desires? Do you think christianity wants guns in peoples hands?

Banning alcohol doesn't work, we know this. The crime syndicate ran the distribution of alcohol, and much like today's war on drugs,  it created crime.

I'm just providing stats.

Banning legal firearms is the worst thing you can do for a society. You are welcoming big government system with open hands and giving more freedom to criminals and crazy people like the mass shooters.

Ask yourself ,why are some kids borderline psychotic instead of blaming availability of firearms. What if a kid used a car to run over people and he would take the key so easily available in his family home? Prosecute parents for that because they didn`t hide the car keys good enough?

Everybody just go by their feelings nowadays instead of laws and logic.

I’ve known many people who have bought and carry illegal guns.Do you think banning weapons will stop this?take them away from good people and all that will be left is bad people with guns.black market weapons is a huge business and would only get way bigger.

Only fools think banning guns will make a difference. *Chicago, cough, Chicago**.

70,000 people die of drug overdose in a year.

37,000 people die in automobile deaths per year.

FYI there were almost 40,000 deaths via guns in the US in 2017, 2/3 of which were suicides.

Why is the media keeping a lid on drug and auto deaths ?
Yes.  The MSM never mentions suicide as being the majority of gun deaths.  U.S. society actually has a very low violent crime rate compared to the past.  When you have 320+ million you are going to have some incidents.

"37,000 people die in automobile deaths per year."   Of course, a lot of those deaths are alcohol related. Fact

You are right. There are 310 million guns in our society and it's foolish to think we could ban them and it would have an impact on shootings. Guns are bought and sold on street corners every day. The only people affected would be law abiding people. Liberals want to pass laws just to 'feel good'....Like they're doing something.

The estimates indicate that there were 10,874 deaths via drunk drivers in 2017.  Of which 214 were children (0-17 years old).

Im not saying there isnt a gun problem.

But I am saying it isnt the only or even our biggest problem.

My question is why is the only solution ever offered is to ban guns?

Gun deaths in the US are the highest in 50 years! The US population has grown by 1/3 in the last 50 years, so by the numbers gun deaths are going down.

That said there is no excuse for the mass shootings that take place.

We can ban and do a gun recall but the people who will obey these laws aren't the problem.

Has anyone offered a legitimate solution like increasing the cost of owning a gun either by making the purchase price extremely high, say the starting price for all handguns and rifles is $7000, or instituting a gun "insurance"  where owners pay a premium to own a gun.

I know the ideas above are extreme but there has to be legitimate opinions besides ban all guns.

What are you talking about?  Kids are being molested and murdered and abused by their parents daily!!! What are we going to do about that? We should force people to be licensed and vetted before breeding!! It's not a constitutoinally protected right to have kids.

The fact is, childhood maltreatment (physical and sexual abuse, neglect, etc), is a much worse social concern than gun violence.

Yet, you don't hear Liberals/Democrats on their soapboxes trying to end childhood trauma.

Bunch of hypocrites.

Its interesting that childhood maltreatment is a platform that any politician has clung to, especially when you consider the amount of people who are directly affected. Many adults carry the emotional trauma throughout their whole life.

Politicians have not clung to it because it doesn't generate the emotional response of "us vs. them." Whenever you pit two groups against each other, its going to arouse strong emotions, which will lead to votes.

No one cares about childhood trauma unless it affects themselves or their family. It's not a good platform for politicians. Yet, it's cost from a medical and mental health perspective far outweighs the cost of gun violence.

It's kind of scary that anyone can have as many kids as they want without any means of taking care of those children.

Exactly,I’ve been saying that people should be licensed before having kids cause welfare is no way to raise children.

Go to Downtown area in your city, and ask how many people are working Under the table and getting welfare on the side, so.. you got another problem going on...

This type of behavior is illegal so im sure it isnt taking place like you claim.

The US has a ban on undocumented non taxable employees.
