Minimalist lifestyleown home free and clearsaved and invested for 2 decadesno kids NO WIFE (there is no way in Hell I could live this way with a wife)BTW, many military people retire in 20 years.
Police / prison guards too....they can put in 20+ years by low 40s and get pension.
Great post and I've always been a fan of the minimalist lifestyle.I understand your desire to avoid a wife and kids.If you're happy "as is" stay that way and ENJOY your stress free lifestyle. In my case, I prefer having a wife as a loving life partner. As most know, I don't have kids and never wanted 'em, so I won't elaborate on that.I was married 3x before this one and it's finally working well.Maybe it's because we're older and she never wanted kids .She is a VP exec. for a major bank and makes more then me.I recently retired and we have a paid for 5 BR home on 5 wooded acres w streams. With her , we've done well with a couple Mt vacation home rentals to supplement our incomes.I can tell you, having a loving woman by your side can be a real plus.In my OPINION most men buy into too many traditions when it comes to marriage. They end up bitter and disillusioned with marriage. They blinded followed the" it's just what you do " path.In my experience, nothing beats being with a smart, attractive woman with a successful career.
Smart man.
No fun, can’t live like that Rather spend thousands on drinking wine, riding in yachts, traveling to Dubai, and being driven around in a Rolls-Royce phantom
