Barring a miracle (like ending the Iran war tomorrow, gas prices immediately plummeting, etc.), I predict the Democrats take the House and the GOP narrowly retains the Senate. 

This will be followed by multiple attempts to impeach President Trump in the House, which if successful will fail (again) in the Senate.

I agree with you, the GOP has not done squat in the last two years. One thing they have done is take a lot of time off. As of September 17, 2026, the U.S. House of Representatives has been on breaks for roughly 160 calendar days since January 20, 2025, and the Senate has been on breaks for 176 days.

I'd propose they show up, maybe review material, starting with science books to figure out what a woman is? Maybe they could try reading the Constitution? You could have Habeeb Jeffries read it to the class and test them afterwards?
