I watched the trailer, it’s like they don’t even try to make it look good. The bad CGI in movies is out of control, nothing looks even remotely realistic.

As far as this goes, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines started the downfall.

Cameron wanted it to end after the second one.

He said he might make a film showing the future war between the resistance and Skynet, but it never happened.

Then we got the awful Terminator: Salvation.

When T2 was made, CGI was still in it's infancy so was just used sparingly and in combination with excellent practical effects. This combination really helped make the film come to life.
Now, everything is done using CGI. Not only does this make the film feel and look more like a video game, but it ages the film badly only a few years afterwards.

Somehow T2 still looks good even with early CG, it’s probably due to 90% of it being real stunts.

Agreed with others here- CGI taken to extremes kills movies. Just saw John Wick 3 and what I liked about it was the lack of heavy CGI. Yeah I know there are green screens involved but nobody is transforming into a robot during the fight scenes.
