The movie "the Prestige"
« on: May 29, 2019, 04:24:33 PM »
so I watched this recently but was half asleep (not because the movie was bad, I found it actually pretty entertaining) so was confused with the ending

Christian Bale's character, the Professor lives (but his bro "fallon" gets hanged)

what happens to Aigner (hugh jackmans character), does the real Aigner get shot (or does he drown in the tank)or does the drunk actor doppelganger get shot at the end?

turn your boytoy away from the tv next time, so you you can side-eye your chick flicks while gagging his knob.

love the movie...

the professor,I assume has used the machine once and duplicated himself, found a way with his 'twin' to live together by disguising one of them, but switch roles every now and then

jackman character however, killed the first duplicate of himself, then found a way to make use of that machine in the magic,by drowning himself so that the duplicate from the machine will be the only one that alive, hence the 50 days only show, because I dont think anyone will go as far as killing himself for nore than 50 times.

need to watch the movie few times to get the idea.

Wait what? Both Bale and Jackman have clones in this movie?

Great movie. They don't make very many good clever movies anymore.

The book it's based on was much different and far better than the movie.

Were they using clones in the book as well?

That's usually the case with movies based on a book.

yes, Bale's identical bro (the guy with glasses and beard who is buried alive) is the one hanged, the Professor (who gets his hand mangled in the catching the bullet trick sabotaged by Jackman) lives to shoot Jackman (aigner)- the question is which Jackman character is the one who gets shot at the end

You might just not have the intelligence to follow the plot.

But how is this cloning technique possible? Isn't this in the late 1800s - early 1900?

Loved the movie. Only thing I didn't like was that the Jackman character was constantly getting the short end of things throughout the movie. Bale's character ties the wrong knot on Ainger's wife in the beginning then steals his girlfriend/valet away. Bale constantly made him look like a fool. It had me disliking the Bale character and rooting for Ainger. I was happy to see Ainger shoot his finger off.
