Legs are my best body part. For a while I just did HIIT in a stationary bike and they stayed the same, it's a nice variation. My calves also improved just from jumping rope.

I doggy styled my wife whilst standing up for 31 straight minutes last weekend.  Two take aways:

1.  My dick was beat to shit and out of commission for a couple days.
2.  My calves had as good a pump as I can remember.

Bodyweight squats are very underrated. Most people would see good results doing 3-4 sets of 15 reps 2x a week.

I do body weight squats after my weight thigh program. Usually after leg press, squats, leg extensions and leg curls. They are a killer if you go deeper and don't flop down like cross fit guys trying to beat the clock for reps. Use a moderate cadence. I actually think I could have a great leg program dropping weight squats and substituting something like 200 reps of body weight squats in however many sets it takes to get there. Bet it might even be better results for me. See my post in the training log section about body weight squats. One of my last posts there.

Same here except I tend to go up on my toes a lot trying to get every last fraction of an inch.

Those types of machines are usually at the mirage hotel near the ice machine

I have always enjoyed training legs.

Squats are my favorite exercise.

I'm serious.

Body weight squats are excellent.

A lot of pro-wrestlers do them as well. Many of them mention doing hundreds of body weight squats every day.

I never train legs, I feel like I can’t fit into my skinny jeans if I do, even an inch of growth throws it all off

Ya, I have that same problem with my junk..

The fact you specifically state 31 minutes and not just 30 leads me to the conclusion you did actually time the event!  Hahahahaa! ;D

1) Get a decent bicycle that fits you
2) Ride it 3 days a week for 30 min
3) Every other ride go hard for 15-20 seconds - up a short hill, on the flats, whatever. Repeat this 2-4 more times, 3-5 min easy between sprints.
4) After 2 months get back to us about how your quads are getting huge

As a freebie, you will get outstanding cardiovascular fitness 😁

I have not trained legs in a while.

I just lost care and since I don’t compete, I have no strong desire to train them.

They stay pretty well conditioned with cardio.

Anyone else ignore leg training?

Not at all. However I don't pulverize my body with standard deadlifts and squats anymore. For the past two years I have chosen from leg press, hack squat, glute-ham raises, hip thrusts, and lunges, and split squats, obviously not all in the same workout. I go all out still and I maintained my leg mass just as good as with the other exercises, possibly even improving my hamstrings.

For this week's leg workout, I did:
Glute-ham raise
Walking lunges
Hip thrusts
Dumbbell stiff-legged deadlift

Lower body training is good for overall health and staving off back pain, if done correctly.

I've come to think standard squats and deadlifts are grossly overrated in regards to other exercises if muscle growth is the goal. Plus they just can burn you out.

Yeah, that looks like a leg workout I could get into. Thank you.

Squats with lying leg curls. Stiff Deads or Romanian Deads are hard on the lower back.

The Great Gama did 5,000 squats and 3,000 pushups everyday.  Worked for him.

Just go light on squats now due to knee issues (although was never really strong on them) and have only recently resumed regular leg training

Train them twice a week just to keep them in reasonable shape now

Saturday
Olympic pause squat 3x6
Stiff leg deadlift off 4 inch block 2x6
Leg extension 3x12
Leg curl 3 x12

Wednesday or Thursday
Olympic pause squat 5x8
Stiff leg deadlift 3x8
Good mornings 3x12
Leg extension 6x20
Leg curl 6x20

Really shallow leg presses. It would be more work if some of those plates came off and he bent his legs fully.

Pay attention to the lying leg curl machine......you’ll see it there
