« on: June 02, 2019, 07:38:58 AM »
Hey fellow getbiggers. Old vid of me from the 70s filmed on super 8. This is from the late 70s.

Got my early muscles from dynamic tension as u can see in the beginning 🤣

That's some ballet shit. Ground and pound and your lights are out in 7 seconds.

agreed lol. That’s a form. You’d never do that on the street. Also martial arts have evolved. We did ground fighting, locks and arm bars etc. Nothing like today’s ground work.
We all had pretty good striking skills bitd.  Lotta heavy bag work.

Nice clip. Are you still training? Have you looked at other styles or stayed with your original?

i haven trained in martial arts in quite some time. Try to stay in good shape. It was cool. Even back in the 70s our teacher incorporated the “if it works we’ll use it.’ Philosophy. Akin to Bruce Lee’s JKD. We were all good fighters. Yes that’s a form but we could strike hard. And we didn’t do those forms in combat. We did speed and heavy bag training a lot. Our teacher also used to say that you’d hear these bullshit martial artists talk about how awesome they are yet they and there students looked like marshmallows. Granted not all powerful martial artists look that way in the outside but he emphasized rigorous training. Anyway, it was a cool time to grow up. Back in the 60s and 70s. Miss those days.

yeah maybe not. Maybe 77? I found it along with some other reels back in the 90s. I sent it away and had them add flying in a blue dream to it and transfer to modern VHS 🤣. One of my fav satch songs. But yeah around 40 years old?

Anyone else have any old martial arts films?
