I remember Keith. He seemed like a great guy. I remember his daughter, I think, posting shortly after he died. It was a really nice, very sad post.

That's almost a rhetorical question for some of us IronAge Getbiggers.

I have been here since 2003, but lurking since a wee bit earlier.

Wiggs has been here since 1998.

Mike O'Hearn's wigs a decade or so before that.

We all remember Keith Jones. I laughed at the OnlyMen and LonelyMe comments, but when I saw him at the 2007 Mr. Olympia expo, I feared for his health. He appeared to weigh over 600-lb. I wasn't one to make fun. At the time, I hadn't contemplated the gravity of the situation. Such a high level of obesity does not bode well for longevity.

I didn't interact with him substantially on the boards, but we corresponded on civil terms.

He is missed.

I'm pretty sure most folks remember Keith Jones or perhaps they remember him by "Only Me" if they were here for the golden age of GetBig.
The arm wrestling stories. The Goodrum, Basile, Jones circular flame wars. The tales of Hollywood balls, and the fan fictions from other posters that would come after, more often than not starring Jonesy from Police Academy :).

I think you mostly don't hear about him now because it's been almost a decade, that's 2 or 3 lifetimes in message board years. Also his death was sad. I think folks knew something bad was going to happen sooner or later when the Vegas pics came out.

See, I stand corrected. For some reason, I had thought that he had an MRSA wound that was not healing due to HIV complications (again all rumors, nothing confirmed). The nephew stuff I remember clearly, as someone had suggested that maybe incest had occurred (without any proof).

And that "plato" guy who committed suicide. There was that guy who someone posted a pic of working in a kitchen that really hated chaos. He knew he was dying but his last wish was to get back at chaos, whatever that means.

And people think I take this board too seriously.
