I kind of wish grant hadnt realised he got the wrong fortney, then fortress suddenly posted in the thread

I met that Fortney guy at an expo. Many years ago. I saw his nametag and did a double take.

He was extremely pleasant. Just a likeable fellow.

This is very sad news.

I met Alan in the late 90's at Chad Nichols Missouri Bodybuilding Championships. Alan was in town to see Chad the "Diet Doctor". Al seemed really disappointed after meeting with Chad, said Chad didn't want to see his physique and just gave him a "cookie cutter" drug protocol, also told him he was eating too clean and needed to eat more McDonalds. Alan was a construction laborer and couldn't afford the prescribed gear and especially the high amount of HGH.

At the evening show Al's girlfriend came out of their hotel room and said Al wasn't ready yet had tried on several shirts and thought all of them made him look small. Eventually he came out with a sleeveless flannel and was the biggest guy in the room, he was weighing 290lbs at the time. During the evening show Nasser guest posed at ~300lbs and Al said "Why doesn't my 290 look like that?".

Alan was a very nice respectable guy, but at least at that time in his life he just didn't seem comfortable in his "Gorilla suit".

he's the kinda guy that would buy you a drink if you promise to stay and listen to him rank the top-10 norwegian black metal albums of all time!
