Totally opposite, the Thai Baht is gone too strong, in 2019 Thai Baht was the best performing Asian curency, they have massive $$$ reserves.

Many Brits expats a packing, new immigration laws, new visa rules, Kingdom prefer wealthy tourists  ;D

To stay Cheap Charlie must have around US $ 30K on Thai bank account + monthly income of around $ 3K !.

New Brits destination >>> Vietnam, Cambodia & ex Burma  :) . I'ts good time to buy a condo from British ex pats.

Thai Elite visa rules  ;D

Move to Texas. Huge parts of it are Republican, conservative, patriotic, and friendly.  If you want liberal, hateful, intolerant, unpatriotic, and violent move to states like Oregon, California, Minnesota, and Michigan.

FYI. The violent crime rate in Texas is nearly twice that of Oregon.

You can’t talk about liberal failures without mentioning Illinois

No free healthcare in the USA so take that into your budgeting.

No VAT in USA.

No state income taxes in some states such as Florida.  Hurricanes though.

It's all about "dem dare' demographics". So glad I live where I do, even w/ shitty winters...

White: 93.9% (92.3% non-Hispanic)
Asian: 2.2%
Black or African American: 1.1%
American Indian and Alaska Native: 0.2%
Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander: approx. 0.0%
Other race: 0.9%

I even saw an Asian guy, and a black lady the other day, go figure?

Part of that reason is because so many people are moving into Texas, mainly Dallas areas, I think something like 1 million plus already from 2010-2019, many illegals too it’s getting too crazy, the next 10 yrs is going to be more

Mainly from California and east coast states like NY

There was when I was in Florida and Atlanta.

Not included in the listed price but has to be added in when paid at the till. At least it was like that when I was over there in the 1990's.

Interesting, sales tax sounds like a more efficient and less bureaucratic system.

Sales taxes in the US vary by state and even by local government.

Some items are often sales tax exempt in certain states such as food and clothing.

im sure it has a lot to do with the weather, here in TX there is literally no season where you are confined indoors for a large portion of a season.  Doesn’t Oregon lead the nation in suicide?  And the west coast fascination with street shitting so there that.

No, Oregon does not lead the nation in suicide. The largest state in the U.S. has the highest suicide rate for 2019 is Montana at 28.9 per 100,000.  Oregon had 19 per 100,000. Believe it or not, New York State was the lowest with 8.1 suicides per 100,000

In New York other people commit suicide on you.  It's called murder.

New York City is full of commuters from New Jersey who kill themselves.

You left out a small detail.  Demographics!  Shocking, Oregon has a low minority count and a low violent crime crate.  Texas has a high minority count and a high violent crime rate.  ::)

Oregon:

White: 75.3%
Hispanic: 13.3%
Asian: 4.8%
Two or more races: 3.9%
Black or African American: 2.2%
Native American: 1.8%
Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander: 0.5%

Texas:

White: 41.5%
Hispanic: 39.6%
Black or African American: 12.80%
Asian: 5.2%
Two or more races: 2.0%
Native American: 1.0%
Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander: 0.1%
