Maybe the dominican republic is a dangerous, 3rd world shithole? Why would those troglodytes shoot someone whom I presume is a national hero? What kind of lowlifes would do that to a professional baseball player? Shouldn't Ortiz be treated like royalty for making a great name for himself in the USA and showing his people back home the proper way in which to behave yourself when trying to integrate into the USA?

This is just pathetic and while I don't care for baseball, I think it further lowers the value of a country that already has a terrible image in NYC (and USA) for exporting some of the most petty drug dealers NYC has ever seen. There was a time when one of the major exports from the dominican was tobacco. Today, I think drug dealing parasites has taken the top spot. Sorry if I seem a bit bias on the matter, but for anyone who lives in New York City, I think it is a well known fact that half of the island of Manhattan was for many years overrun by dominican drug dealers. Other minorities where also involved, but the dominicans took over and almost destroyed the upper west side. Now, in light of deregulation of housing in NYC, they are being smoked out of Manhattan and made to crawl out to the less desirable neighborhoods in the outer boroughs.
