I prefer Leno.

However, the last time I watched a late night talk show was probably over a decade ago.

Too many late show hosts have an agenda and it’s annoying.

I prefer Dave.  Although Leno is good whenever he is on Real Time with Bill Maher. 

Of the current crop, I prefer Seth Myers. and Jimmy Kimmel over the rest.

Remember the writers strike in Hollywood a few years back?  All the late night hosts had to shut it down and show reruns.  Before that I actually thought they wrote their own material.  Just a bunch of talentless hacks reading jokes off a screen that someone else wrote.

This was never meant to be a secret. The writers are listed at the end of the show, Letterman featured the writers during the show, they showed him reading off of cue cards during the show and when a joke flopped he would often jokingly blame his writers. It's more surprising that someone could think these guys write all of the material for their shows.

I thought they did more than just read cards.  How and why do these guys get those gigs if all they can do is read?  How did Larry King get his first gig at CNN when he was probably the worst interviewer ever?
