Your numbers are off. According to the CDC, gay and bisexual men with HIV accounted for 56% of HIV cases at the end of 2015.

The term "gay disease" has a vague meaning. It sounds like it implies that only gays can get HIV, which is not true. In practice thou, the chances of heterosexual men getting HIV is abismally low.
