Teachers leaving NYC schools at alarming rate
« on: June 27, 2019, 05:41:28 PM »
https://nypost.com/2019/06/24/city-teachers-fleeing-new-york-at-an-alarming-rate-report/

Poor areas have highest turnover. Wow, I never knew lack of money in poor tots’ pockets drives teachers away. That must be the real reason, I guess.

Rofl at more "teachers of colour" being the alleged solution.

Works great in AIDS-ridden Africa. Oh wait.

dont count on a school to teach your kids - a parent needs to be priority #1 when it comes to learning/teaching.

my mom was up my ass - she was a white "tiger mom" or "dragon lady"

These NYC teachers make 100K plus. Shocked  that they would leave a job that pays that for 9 months of work. If it's true where are they going?  Going to South Carolina to make 38K?

I think one’s personal safety is worth more than 100k. Also emotional abuse isn’t easy either.

Of course. All parents have the skills and time to teach calculus and physics.

They can go to Nassau and Suffolk counties. Do you know what a typical NYC school is like?

He is talking about life lessons that are more important than math and physics in the end.

My Dad worked as a computer tech for the local public school system before he retired. He told my brother and I that he never would've made us go to school if he'd known how bad it was.

That's exactly how to worked with the new teachers that taught when I was a kid. They all did a year or two in NYC, then tried for LI, Westchester, or Conn.

He implied  that as long as parents do that, then YT kids will fare well going to such schools. Life lessons do don’t mean much when one is getting jumped.

HERE'S THE BREAK DOWN FOR GETBIGGER MENTALITY:

1. This letter is pretty spot on.

2. Its absolutely  brilliant to have a residency. New teachers get a few weeks to student teach. That is not enough time to figure out if that is what you want to do or even get ready to be in a classroom.

3. Teachers are leaving poor sections in NEW YORK CITY (NOTICE I DID NOT SAY NEW YORK) because in NYC poor districts DO NOT GET THE SAME RESOURCES AS OTHER DISTRICTS!!!!! Understand? So that means a teacher that is in a poor district doesn't have, example: a white board, certain books, etc. etc. It's SHAMEFUL but you don't see Mario Cuomo saying a PEEP about that. Where are the black leaders?

4. Teachers are also leaving poor districts because of lack of parenting and values about education.

5. Hiring teachers of colour, Um...can't prove that one. I've seen disrespect from blacks to white and black administrators. It really doesn't matter. What does matter is if those kids have grown up with those teachers surrounding them IN THEIR NEIGOBORHOODS. This is why its important to hire people that live in that community.

That's what our government says. They lay out how long teachers have for a certain subject. Take for example third grade when kids are learning states and money. They might spend an hour on it for one day because other things need to be covered. The parents that have the time to sit down with their kids and go over it will make out. Others, will not. Don't get me started with the "No Child Left Behind" garbage.

That is top of the pay scale for a typical NY teacher. They will earn more by doing part time coaching, lunch duty, after school duty which is about $4500 more. You can have regular NY teachers making around 120 grand which is what a administrator makes (Principal) but doesn't have summers off.

So poor Blacks who refuse to work or be productive get shitty, inferior schools. How is that unfair?

In Canada, all schools get the same funding, so our non-White schools are going to collapse way faster, as White money runs out.

And why the fuck should Whites have to pay?

Could not imagine trying to teach with smartphones in everybody's hand. Would be infuriating.

Same thing happening in the UK. A shortage of teachers in inner city areas with high black populations.

Often the worst school districts have the highest cost per pupil.

Money won't solve the problem which is dysfunctional families.

I attended one of the worst high schools in New York City.

It was absolutely insane lol.  The principal retired after six months of being there. He got tired of getting slapped in the face.
