The buses to my old hood in the Bronx destroyed it too. Once very nice middle class area - turning into a cesspool b/c of the public bus.
Like importing a plague or disease into an area. Garbage, crime, slime, drugs, etc.
Very unfortunate. I don't blame minorities. I blame white lefties for destroying everything that they "fix."
