Staying the weekend there. What’s some cool places to eat and grab a beer on a short trip?

bourbon street or the french quarters. you'll find something that fits your taste (dixie to millennial bullshit) if you just walk around. take the trolley down st charles (you'll hit Audubon and the garden district) which has plenty of tourist type restaurants. That's more than enough for 2-3 days or whatever. jazz fest is fine if your trip falls during that week. other stuff is out of your league if you aren't rolling with natives. roaming around in tourist mode at night isn't a good thing.

lol new Orleans is pretty much a shithole with some exception like the strip and boardwalk, Ive lived there for 5 years, its like 20 years behind the rest of the nation, louisiana in general. Again its fine to visit very so often, but to live there is.......

I've lived in a lot of places around the nation. Louisiana, and city like memphis, people there are very "REAL". If they don't like you, they will let you know, ain't no hipster bullshit around those people. They are dumb enough to kill you if you look at "those people" wrong

Staying in the French Quarter at the Ritz, so anything near there that won’t get me stabbed. I saw a Diners Dives and Drive in’s once that had some place with “Mae’s” in the name that was supposed to be good. An old house that looked like a dump or something.

Just go anywhere that looks/feels good. I've always said that on Bourbon Street, you could get drunk, fall down, roll around a little bit and when you stand back up you will be in a world class restaurant.
