Look up Matthew Rush.  He is a gay porn star (oh fuck off) that lives here in Ft Lauderdale.  I used to see him and his little posse down at the beach all the time.  Dude really had some amazing genetics for building muscle fairly easy.  Got into meth and went to hell.  The before and after photos are awful.  The really shocking thing is that he wasn't even a full blown meth head either.  He used casually and it still wrecked him.   and those other guys that hung out with him ended up way worse.  It's like their gums just completely disappeared all together.

Lol - let me be clear here. I am not asking for "advice". I am simply trying to ascertain if there is anyone used successfully use meth. (I personally have no plans to use it, as I feel I have no need to use it either in terms of training, productivity, or hedonistic pleasure).

The collective wisdom of getbig seems to be rather simplistic - homeless people take it (therefore its "bad"), Craig Titus, a gay porn star and Mike Mentzer took it and they didn't turn out too good. Oh and it makes your teeth fall out.

I would retort that there are many people with beautiful mansions that take it, and point to many occasional users who still have their teeth, and by all accounts have are very "successful".

For me personally, I don't have any plans to use, but I do not with interest there is a general view against use, which I think is a good general stance to take.

However, playing devils advocate, I think, in the right circumstances and scenarios there may be some positive uses for it, (or chemically similar compounds) - but again, I lean very much towards the "not good" category.

Follow question - for all those "anti-meth", do you hold similar view for coke?

Gib when you refer to meth, we (the getbig collective), in our simplistic minds, assume you are talking about the street version of the drug, also known as crystal methamphetamine.

If you are referring to the medical version of Desoxyn you should be specific. You wouldn't say crack cocaine when you mean coke.

Have people used meth successfully?  It would seem that the answer is no,  however you think that answer is wrong.

By asking do people use meth successfully you mean do people use meth recreationally without consequences. Undoubtedly there are people that can use for extended periods of time without having the appearance of addiction, but ultimately everyone ends up paying a price, and they can still be rich,  please see Charlie Sheen for reference.

You arent talking about something trivial like caffeine intake from daily coffee coffee or even something more dangerous like smoking cigarettes. You're talking about methamphetamine use. Which is a highly addictive drug and if it's the street version it's a very dirty drug.

What successful people do you know that attribute any amount of their productivity to meth use? Watch them long enough and you'll see their crash.

The same generally  holds true for long time coke users, albeit they tend to be better at controlling their usage.

There is research supporting the view that in the right dosage meth can help increase your ability to pay attention, stay focused on an activity, elevate mood and awareness, help control behavior problems, improve organizational ability, and improve listening skills, enhance sexual pleasure, assist in weight loss for obese people.

In theory, sounds like a great drug to at least consider. So its interesting not a single person, so far, has claimed its use has benefited them. Whereas, if you ask about other drugs, eg MDMA, LSD, DMT, weed etc for example, you will see many people claiming to have benefited from use.

Sure, for a very specific purpose meth could be useful. If the shit hit the proverbial fan I would be open to revisiting meth. In some kind of emergency where you needed to stay up for several days it would be probably the best possible drug you could take. It would be a great drug for very limited time when the stakes where the very worst. But it's maybe the worst drug imaginable. The average pot smoking libertarian who thinks all drugs should be legal probably has never done meth.
