I was referring to Methamphetamine (N-methyl-1-phenylpropan-2-amine). Desoxyn is simply the brand name for the same chemical compound (I believe?)
So the "street" reference, assuming the chemical is the same, is perhaps simply a biased reference to either the user, or the form of distribution (and possibly method of ingestion).
There is research supporting the view that in the right dosage meth can help increase your ability to pay attention, stay focused on an activity, elevate mood and awareness, help control behavior problems, improve organizational ability, and improve listening skills, enhance sexual pleasure, assist in weight loss for obese people.
In theory, sounds like a great drug to at least consider. So its interesting not a single person, so far, has claimed its use has benefited them. Whereas, if you ask about other drugs, eg MDMA, LSD, DMT, weed etc for example, you will see many people claiming to have benefited from use.
