I've tried Hattie B's in Nashville, a place in Seattle, a place in Denver, and a place in San Francisco. The locals in Nashville say that Hattie B's isn't as hot as legit Nashville Hot Chicken, but their hottest chicken ( "Shut the Cluck up") is incomparably hotter than the hottest chicken offered by any of the other places. Although I have made spicy food a hobby, so it is possible my sensitivity has decreased some and contributed to the difference.

It didn't look like any of them were bothering you. That Oakland one looked the best and you commented that the sauce was really good.

The Seattle place had good flavor and was a little spicier, but the place in San Francisco (Oakland) was really delicious. My girlfriend and I plan on going back the week aftet next.

It's funny, if I'm not ready for it, even regular old Sriracha can "get me" a little bit. But if I prepare myself for heat, i can take pretty much any spice or sauce, including carolina reaper. Though if you give me a fresh pepper that isnt ground into a spice or made into a sauce, I would be crying. At that point it's really just about bragging rights haha.
