I've been around bodybuilding for 45 years and it's always had a large "seedy side".
Drug dealing often involves more then steroids to make bigger $$.
Schmoes and paid sexual "favors" are lot more common then most casual trainers realize.

I wasn't anything too great as a BB. I ended my own pro dreams to avoid that  "lifestyle".
My path involved finishing college, getting a conventional career and competing without  any more "vit S".
It was sensible , BUT, it sentences you to bodybuilding obscurity. Some , like Melissa can't accept that fate.

Like other attractive young females, Melissa just got caught up in the existing hardcore BB culture.
I'm not excusing or defending this lifestyle, but, it's VERY common for those trying to make it in contests.

Eventually Melissa's contest advancement  stalled and she veered into making  $$ in the sex film industry.
As you get more into the hardcore BB culture, you get more removed from "normal" society and values.

Eventually, she likely found this  lifestyle lacking  and  left it. How or exactly why , I wouldn't know.
Obviously, she had problems in her married life  with her hubby doc is in jail for "something"
I sincerely hope raising her child provided her some lasting love and joy. Melissia really is a sweet spirit.


I'm very sorry to see her bald on chemo, fighting cancer now. She's had a life filled with short lasting happiness.
Many of her problems were "self imposed" by making bad, long term choices.
She always took great care to look good and it's sad to see her situation now.
Obviously , I didn't keep up with her and wasn't a close friend when I did know her,  years ago.

I'll always prefer to think of her as the cute, aspiring "muscle doll", I knew from the past .

I've been on/off Get Big since it first started over 20 years ago.
Obviously, many others on here  don't like or agree with  my posted opinions.

In my 2+ decades of posting here, I've been called every name and insult available.
Some is clever and makes me laugh, while most is silly, pointless and not worth thinking about.

I was never anything great or famous in the world of contest BB.
BUT, it's such a small, insular sport, I met many people and learned a lot of things, etc.
LOL, I've even met and spoke with original GetBig owner - Ron Aviden, at major contests over the years.

For whatever reason, I tend to get a lot more negative feedback on a variety of my posts/threads.
Considering I rarely insult anyone or post cruel insults, I find that ironic.
I suspect most are just trolling , looking for attention or a laugh, etc
Maybe, I touch a nerve with some on the topics I post about or the comments I make?

In the end, for me,  this is mostly entertainment and when It gets old, I take a break for awhile.
