Our tax dollars go to build walls in other countries yet politicians (mostly Democrats) don't want us to have a wall in our own country.

And there again shows the importance of context.

The Republicans indeed lost the House but it was by a lot of razor thin margins and victories by moderate Democrats campaigning as "Republican light". These same Democrats who find themselves distancing themselves from "The Squad" on a daily basis for fear of being voted out in 2020.

HOWEVER, Trump picked up 2 seats in the Senate(in a mid term election) and ultimately that is what matters when it comes to seating these justices.

Long term the Senate electoral map favors the Republicans...they just need to field solid candidates. They do that and they win AND control the judicial landscape for the next couple decades.

Unfortunately 2 of the 5 I wouldn't classify them as that at this point.

4 strong liberals and 3 strong Conservatives with the other two being 50/50, so it is very important that his next pick (if he gets one) be rock solid.

This is the most important thing to be gained from Trump's 2016 election and to be continued by his re-election in 2020.

Agreed. Got to hope for the end to Ginsberg and Breyer.

It may also be smart for Thomas to retire during Trump's second term to make sure a conservative nominee takes his place.
