I think this is the last facebook post he did after surgery...  could this have been the issue?

Upper extremity surgical/post surgical deep vein thrombosis risk is extremely low. He mentions having abbesses development in the surgical area which is a localized infection. That's typically treated with an antibiotic and wound debridement.  If he had developed sepsis he would have been hospitalized on IV antibiotics.

Because he had previous heart surgery and other comorbidities there should have been preemptive steps taken to avoid clotting. Not sure what happened.

David and Milos back in the day..

Don't know anything about him except what I have read here.  If true he has had a troubled life like so many steroid users I have known.

One thing often leads to another.

Bodybuilding leads to drug use leads to buying illegal drugs leads to needing money to buy drugs leads to drug addiction leads to performing sex acts for  money in Santa Monica leads to diseases leads to more drug use leads to depression leads to more drug use leads to more unsavory behaviors leads to physical and mental problems leads to early death.

Stay away from the drugs, folks.  Train for health not death.

At least wait til the body is cold before spewing unsubstantiated rumors.  Have some respect for the grieving family.

I haven't said anything bad about David Dearth. ???

Jeff Petee - David had a staff infection a few years back from knee surgery. As a result, his heart was weakened, and when his bicep got infected, his heart wasnt strong enough to handle it..

Its crazy when someone's staff gets infected
Come get me.

May he rest in peace.  :(

Audience was laughing here because right before Dearth went on, Lee Haney who was co MC gave a rant that bodybuilders should stop coming out to "twinkle toe music." Haney got on the mic and said, "Enough of this twinkle toe music. If you have muscle, you should use MUSCLE MUSIC". Right before Dearth came out to this. And Dearth just laughed with him, turning what would have been embarrassing, into just having fun and ended up getting a huge ovation for just being relaxed about it and laughing with them.  Straight up guy. RIP. Someone find the original clip of Haney putting foot in his mouth before this posing. Classic Olympia moment.

Doesn’t matter what he did or didn’t do.  He’s gone now, so who cares?

Sounds like he had a rough period with all the injuries and surgeries. :(

RIP

But getbiggers spew unsubstantiated rumors about people's death all the time when it first happens (before the body is cold).

Why does it matter to you now, but not in other cases?  ??? ???

Look he was a great bodybuilder irrespective of what he did in his extracurricular life. He ended having few true friends and died in the hands of dangerous doctors. Too bad he did not have a friend in the medical profession to offer medical advice. DOC

He received lots of medical advice. But he stubbornly refused to take it.

Unfortunately addiction issues can blow right over top doctors and best medical care, although who knows whether the addictions were direct cause of early death.

Last time I saw him was at the '02? MrO, in the expo. I thought MY "bodybuilder-trackmarks" (same thing Tom prince had. The vein the goes down the bicep is where most bbers inject IV drugs and it turns BIG and purple, & David was making no attempt at hiding them with high/tight shirtsleeves and big, purple tracks running all the way down that bicep vein and both the "Y" veins in the crook of the elbow. At that time Nubain was still sorts around but I'd introduced "Turbogesic", which was a veterinarian painkiller just like(well, sorts, they were both opiate agonist/antagonists) nubain. No telling what he was putting in there but he did have a big coke problem back in the day (like Tom prince as well).

Goes to show, you gotta know when to call it quits.
