problem with internet/tech live attended events doesn't sell as well anymorenot sure how this can be solved. Maybe better webcasts with reasonable fees.
This would bring a tear to Joe Weider’s eye
I have it on good authority that there have been high level IFBB meetings and teleconferences about canceling this year’s Olympia. This information comes straight from the wife/GF of one of the top IFBB/AMI guys. The reasons given is that ticket sales are absolutely horrid and they are expecting to lose more than $1M+ unless something changes. With Kai confirmed to be out, this is shaping up to be something less than the Arnold Classic, except the Arnold sells out. Ticket sales are so bad that one of the show promoters is rumored to be getting fired/demoted as well. Manion not happy.
Why am I soooo obsessed with Scott? He is a cool cat
Remember when ESPN had bodybuilding contests on and even a show on how the pro's train? Then it seemed after one meeting it was all gone. The bodybuilding time slot was replaced with billiards competitions. Insecure guys that flocked to bodybuilding now flock to MMA fights. Instead of going to bodybuilding gyms they go to jui jitsu dojo's. Bodybuilding's deep secret of using drugs to get muscles way beyond an athlete's muscles is just common knowledge now. Regular people don't give a damn about a sport based on drug use. No drugs equal no sport. I know every drug using bodybuilder likes to think athletics wouldn't exist without drugs but deep down they know the truth. Only one sport wouldn't exist without drugs and that's bodybuilding.
The same people who make fun of bodybuilding are the same ones that watch it Livestream every year
It's weird how you keep using this particular thing to criticize Joe Valentino in regards to that particular user. Ironic is an understatement.
We have so much talent in the lineup with or without Kai or Roden. The O will be even better because nobody has a clue who is going to win.Roelly, Curry, Dex, Cedric, Bonac, etc.If only Levrone had bring up his legs again, it would be epic.
As you all know by now, the Olympia cancellation rumor was bogus! But it's possible that the individual who started this rumor got revved up by the cancellation of two IFBB Pro League events this year in Europe which could mean a lack of "fair play" or simply 'foul play' on the part of adverse entities. The IFBB Pro League event which was to be held in Paris was cancelled '12 hours before the contestants were scheduled to arrive' because the promoter was arrested. This IFBB Pro League sanctioned promoter, Eric Favre, was arrested plus many others for the distribution of anabolic steroids and money laundering immediately before the event(I suspect that someone on the other side of the bodybuilding fence turned them in thereby causing major problems for the NPC/IFBB Pro League in Europe.)And then the IFBB Pro League event which was scheduled to take place in Prague was cancelled for reasons beyond my knowledge.(Hmmmmm!???)Good guy, Robin Chang, the former Olympia Weekend Event Promoter who is now in charge of NPC worldwide expansion efforts most likely still has a major headache! And that's how dumb rumors may have started!!(Thanks to Kevin Greech and Evolutionofbodybuilding. Net for the above info!!)
Prague lost a ton of money last year. Ticket sales were pretty poor too I think. Not surprised it's not happening this year.
