Therer`s a lot involved,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,special "breathing" bags that the fish need to be shipped in with certain chemicals plus shipping in the winter sux.so you need heat packs.

Fed=EX had to pay me $300.00 as they lost half of my fish shipping them up here in the winter.

Also next day air is expensive and it`ll only pay if you breed more expensive or rare fish and those are the ones that tend to be the hardest to get to mate in captivity.

After I bought all the accessories that I would need to ship fish,I`d never make a profit unless like I said the fish are rare or saltwater fish.

The trouble with saltwater fish is that some are very fragile and do not eat well or at all in captivity...........they jut waste away.

Back in the 1980`s I would pay 80-100 dollars for one salt water fish and if he died overnite, not only was he fucked but you can`t return the fish and get a rufund so you both lose out.and some fish can actually costs thhousands of dollards depending on the amount of fish and the species.

You must have been very rich investing so much in these fishes, since you don't even sell or make a profit from them!

As you said, salties are very fragile , don't eat well and just waste away.

Used an AED on a guy having an apparent heart attack by the bank.

Walking up to bank and heard lady screaming and looked and saw a guy face down on by the bus. Walked over and nobody's doing anything. Bus isn't moving. Bus driver on gis phone looking at the dude.

Walk over and stand over him, talk loud ask him questions... Dudes on his side, eyes open and can see he's breathing shallow, but he's greyish/purple (seen this look before. Had a client "die" on me before, until his pacemaker kicked in), threading pulse, etc...

Trying to see if he's "oriented"...  If he knows what day it isz his name, where he is, etc... If he's diabetic, takes meds  etc... Nothing he's mumbling is making sense. Something about a dentist eating fried rice in thousand Palms doing recycling, etc... No name, lives in some odd town, etc...

Just laying there on his side talking/mumbling now with a.1000yard stare, pouring sweat, says "I gotta get up".

He gets up to his elbow, stays there, eyes wide open, stops talking.... Turns blue-blue. I look up and see the bus driver just standing there with phone to his ear, not talking, listening/waiting or whatever he's doing with his dispatch (could hear him talking, sounded like "dispatch" rather than 911... Plus he also got a phone call back while he's standing there. Don't expect 911 would call you back. I've called 911 a.couple times, once for a housefire CPL yrs ago..NVR asks for my #)... Anyways..... Dude lays down and can see he's not breathing. I don't wanna touch this dude, much much less do CPR. Didn't look homeless. Had clean clothes. Shirt tucked in. Decent belt. But shoes were old n dirty... And it's just gross. Plus it should be the fucking BUS driver doing this shit. They should be trained for this stuff as well, but I can hear him say "...I'm not gonna touch him" etc...over the phone, likely afraid of a lawsuit.

Anyways...
Dudes not breathing. I feel no pulse. Dudes eyes are open. Looks greyish .. looked greyish earlier though too. Yell at the driver if he has an AED.. dumbfuck doesnt  register.. say it again and it clicks. Goes inside, gets it. Couldn't pull dudes shirtnup standing over top of him..face the other way, pull his up under his chin. This thing's Totally different from what I trained/certified on, but it's "self explanatory" & talks you through it... "Place pad..."... "Hands.off/stand away" etc.. hit button. Makes no noise whatsoever.but dude moves/twitches just as the firetruck is pulling in fromnthe opposite way to do a u-turn.

Dudes breathing now at least and i don't wanna touch dude so I leave everything as is until the EMT fellas come up. They talk to the bus driver and bus driver talks to me and I say what I saw/did while he's taking the pad things off him and yell at him and do their thing.

Bus driver goes inside and gets a little card thing and asks if I would fill it out. Name/contact info stuff and "remarks"?? Just said I "hear lady yell. Saw guy on ground . Etc..".

Went into bank and did some transfers & withdrawals.

Life goes on. No idea what happened to the dude. Either way, he'll likely die of heart failure within a year.

Btw, after seeing this stuff a few times, heart failure looks to be a pretty easy/simple/peaceful way to die.

And so goes another Friday. Not what I expected when I woke up but oh well...

I once found an old fooball in some bushes while on a walk...

Further progressed large paving area that wraps 3/4 of the way around this great extended farm house, truly the worst flags I’ve ever had to lay, some are 20mm bigger than others and some are fucking wedge shaped in thickness, monotonous due to the size of job with constant laying day after day I much prefer variety over the working week 2 more days laying maybe then cutting in and steps plus jointing (brush in thank fuck). Vodka maybe when it’s complete

What's the trick when stones are so poorly dimensioned? Just allow for a fat mortar bed? Or do you guys go straight onto compacted sand?

Yes mate go with the thick mortar bed I like it to be about 2 inches once the flag is in place as can heap the mortar up a bit more prior to tapping into place and it spreads easier leaving no hollows underneath the flag and the flag tends to level easier than it does with a thinner bed.

If you don’t mind spending the extra time on your own house mate I’d also measure out the sand and cement exactly when mixing to maintain even mortar colour between batches and butter the paving joints and strike it off as you go, takes more time but makes the pointing so much stronger as it’s adhered to the bedding mortar and will last a lifetime. I never do this on customer jobs where time is money but always do on my own house.

Henda, did the homeowners deliberately buy cheap shitty, uneven stones?

Not really fair that you should have so much hassle with laying bad stones IMHO.

They tried to save money by buying the cheapest decorative flags they could find, they are a lovely couple and have took their time extending and renovating their home as to avoid borrowing money but were unaware of the poor quality until I pointed out, i generally like to provide all the materials from my preferred suppliers as I know what to expect quality wise and can make a bit money with the discount I get but they had already purchased the flags when I first went to look at the job back in June. It’s cost more in the end as we have to lay on a mortar bed due to the unevenness of the flags which is double the labour cost and uses 3x the bags of cement as opposed to laying on screeded lean mix concrete which we would have done to cut labour costs on a job this size.

Haha fuck ants they wreck patios when they the flags are laid on a sand bed that new artificial grass is even worse when laid on sand we’ve seen them move in before we even finish laying it on a bigger job

Great job Henda, it seems you like to do the job properly.

Would you consider doing some paving work on Vince Goodrum's mobile home?

Henda, picture this scenario:

You get a call from Mr. Vince Goodrum, who asks you to finish his driveway with some classic slobs of concrete. You accept the offer and immediately fly to the US. Upon landing, Mr. Goodrum picks you up from the airport in his Jaguar and you are somewhat impressed. He gives you a hug and says, "It will be a great day. I have extra chicken breasts to eat tonight after some keilbasa." Mr. Goodrum winks at you and gently taps your shoulder. You think nothing of it. After you get back to his home, you change your clothes into your work uniform, which consists of a tanktop, tight denim blue jeans to show off your buttocks, and worker boots. You go outside and assess the project. You begin to work in the hot sun, as you use your numerous tools of the trade to create a work of art ofr Mr. Goodrum. As the day draws nigh, the hot sun is beating down on your body, and the sweat glistening down your hairy chest and back. Without notice, you feel two pairs of hands wrapped around you from behind, one hand on each pectoral muscle. The hands are rubbing, gently caressing your manly chest hair. Mr. Goodrum is behind you, nibbling on your earlobe and he whispers into your ear, "come inside for some keilbasa."

What do you do?

Right on. Will definitely invest the time. I'm glad you mentioned it. That's one of those things that's suddenly obvious when someone says it but I wouldn't have thought of when doing the job, then you spend the rest of your life saying "But what I SHOULD have done is...."  Great tip.

You'd laugh until you fell over at what's out there at the moment. The fuckers spread mortar and then just randomly pushed rocks and old bricks into it.  No cutting, no jigsaw puzzle effort.  It's at least 60% mortar visible. And so rough you wouldn't walk on it barefoot. What a DIY shitshow. Hopefully be rid of it in a year or so.

I fucking hate the should have done thing mate I’ve got many a job around my house I feel that way every time I see it hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Would love to see the diy job haha I’ve seen some in my time but nothing like that, sounds like it was more hassle to do it that way than it would have been to do it properly
