That's fantastic! I really look up to people who can that kind of work. I can't do shit. I worked at a hardware store for a couple of years and learned a lot. I can install toilet or an a/c but the kind of stuff you do is on a whole different level. My uncle built his own house that he still lives in today (over 40 years) and is still at it at 86 years old. His sons, my cousins, are pretty handy as well. One of them sold high end watches for Ben Bridge Jewlers for over twenty years before being laid off due to Covid but went into business for himself doing this kind of remodeling work. He's doing better now and has more work than he can handle. In Hawaii, once people get a house they keep it forever and pass it down generation to generation, so the remodel and add rather than move as housing is so expensive.
I was even blown away at how Josh transformed his little hovel in the middle of nowhere into a very cozy, comfortable looking get-away-from-it-all place.

I spent most of my early years with my uncle Rob and aunty Brenda and uncle Rob was really handy could turn his hand to most things and had an elaborate construction of averies and sheds in his garden as he loved keeping birds I watched him build them all and was amazed and wanted to do the same from an early age, my dad taught me paving and brickwork when I left school but he was no good at anything else I remember he attempted to do his bathroom and insisted he could do it himself with no help from me so left him too it, every tap you turned on span as you turned it and neither the sink or the toilet were securely fastened to the wall/floor haha it was an absolute abortion.
I like how in Hawaii they pass the houses down and keep them in family keeps all the memories made in the house alive raising kids ect
Starting the front and side extension soon I’ll put up progress photos when get cracking and show how it’s done as it’s a lot simpler than a lot of contractors try and make it sound going to knock down entrance porch and rebuild as it’s uglier than genital herpes and bring garage out in line with it and extend second floor over garage to make the small of the two front bedrooms bigger
