There are roughly 395 million guns in the US. There are roughly 275 million cars in the US.

There are more vehicular deaths per year, than there are gun deaths in the US. Wouldn't it make more sense to ban cars?

Having an option or chance as you say, does not equal doing something illegal. You can take your car and ram it in a group of pedestrians or ongoing traffic, but normal people don`t do that.
