I am not buying any of this nonsense.
Half the world buys in to an invisible sky man with a long beard watching over earth but basically another version of us is outlandish? If you believe in us then you believe in "aliens", we would be "aliens" to another civ who found us.All it would take for any of this to be true is another version of us to be a few hundred to a thousand years or more years ahead tech wise.Is it also inpossible to imagine us existing say 500 years in the future?
There are about 10 billion galaxies in the observable universe! The number of stars in a galaxy varies, but assuming an average of 100 billion stars per galaxy means that there are about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (that's 1 billion trillion) stars in the observable universe.
Potential habitable zone status. In November 2013, astronomers reported, based on Kepler space mission data, that there could be as many as 40 billion Earth-sized planets orbiting in the habitable zones of Sun-like stars and red dwarfs in the Milky Way, 11 billion of which may be orbiting Sun-like stars.
The universe is 13.8 billion years old
* The Milky Way is among the oldest of galaxies 13.51 billion years old
* The Earth is 4.543 billion years old
* It took 4 billion years for life to develop on earth.
So our galaxy and universe are plenty old enough to have technologically advanced cultures lasting over 1,000,000 years several times over.
My guess is within a few hundred years to a thousand we will have self replicating drones out there, with the technology to travel quicker than we can even imagine now.Again if JUST 1 other civ on another planet is slightly ahead of us then this is likely to have happened already.
If you are a logical person who always looks at the statistics, then its insane to me thinking we are alone or there are not civilizations with technology we cannot even comprehend.
