Happy Birthday, VINCE!
I never knew you competed against John Mikl (THOR God of Thunder) bach in them good old days!
You might appreciate this John Mikl story.
John showed up to perdorm hiis THOR, God of Thunder musical act, but he forgot to bring a hot water 'bottle?' and asked me if I' head off to a drug store to get him one so that he could blow it up ... which always got his audiance standing on their feet and going crazy).
I took off and returned with the 'bottle' but I had no idea that they came in various 'thicknesses' ... and I had unknowingly purchased the thickest one.
I handed it to John at precisely the right moment and he immediately noticed that I was handing him a 'bottle' that was too damn thick and impossible to blow up.
He gave me that "What the F____ look!!" but being the showman that he was (and possibly still is) he made an attempt and while turning purple in the face (he was blowing for roughly 90 seconds) ... he maanaged to pop it .... and passed out .... to a standing ovation.
30 seconds passed and he was back on his feet apologizing because he thought that he did not pop it ..... until he saw it near his feet with a surprised look oh his face.
That night he received an offer to perform as God of Thunder in Las Vegas which he accepted and performed on the Strip on numerous
occasions, but I don't believe he did that hot water thing ever again.
He also appeared in a decent role in some major moton picture up in Canada.
Have you ever run into John since you competed against him way back when?
OK, a late Happy Birthday once again!
