He probably could but that would just tell you more about AOC than about him. I'd actually rather see him debate someone further to his right as that would expose how meek and outdated his brand of conservatism is against an unapologetic nationalistic alternative.

He does at times punch back effectively but other times just spouts misinformation or distorts facts like he did in the original video.

The 2002 BBC documentary "Dead in the Water" on the topic was pretty good .It has interviews. from sailors on board the USS Liberty, the Israelis who fired on the ship and the then Secretary fo State ,Robert McNamara.

I watched it uncritically , back when it first came out. 17 years later ,there are a couple of points in it I have an issue with.  I don't believe the US was ever a mad dog regime and minutes away from launching a full scale nuclear attack on a non-nuclear nation ,like Egypt ,just because that nation had launched a conventional attack on US forces.

Secondly, I find it impossible to believe that President Eisenhower, the Supreme Commander of Allied forces in Western Europe during WW II, was not given foreknowledge of the USS Liberty attack. The sacrifice of a small intelligence gathering ship, to form a pretext for US forces to enter the Middle East and seize control of the Suez Canal.made complete strategic sense.

So this BBC documentary is propaganda ,but subtle propaganda.
