In summary, it’s a dog and pony show with absolutely no chance of succeeding in the objective  of removing Trump.

Guarantees a 2020 landslide. Trump's base return to the polls plus a few new voters and moderate dems stay at home.

Yes, that's possible, but it seems more likely that Trump and the GOP could lose everything ( house, senate and Pres).

- Don't get where some people are coming from. First they sought to invalidate the impeachment inquiry because it hadn't been voted on and now these same folks question the legitimacy of the House voting for impeachment.

Pelosi called the republicans bluff and they don't like it.
So, they try to spin it, the only way they can. That's politics. ::)

Yup. Although that's more politics these days then in times before.

It’s not the inquiry it’s the actual impeachment. Everyone knows they want to impeach him so just vote on that. Why pussyfoot around?

Explain how if you are going to say "more likely". Going nowhere in the Senate and average people are dis-interested in a phone call.

Speaker Pelosi and the house are doing their required constitutional duty.

He's being held accountable for *abuse of power.
FYI, that was one of Nixon's 3 impeachment charges.
The impeachment trial in the senate is a different and separate matter.

No, they realize their chances of winning in 2020 legitmately were dwindling so this is the route they took.

In addition to charges against Trump, and objective person would also be suspicious of:
1. The Steel dossier and all surrounding the russia hoax
2. The changing of the whistleblower rules to accomodate, and the whistleblower's political affiliation
3. Schiff denying he met with the whistleblower, then changing the story.
4. The whole subsequent process.

In other words, if something smells bad, it probably is.

The Ukraine call interpretation all boils down to whether you like or dislike Trump.

It's that simple.

Well, they need time to find a crime for the desired outcome hence the stalling and non-traditional "voting to have voting" and so on.

They voted to have a process after the process already started in secret in a basement. I'm sure it's all on the up and up.

Full title: BREAKING: NSC Official Reportedly Testifies He Heard Nothing Illegal On Trump-Zelensky Call, Transcript Accurate

BREAKING: CBS News is reporting that Tim Morrison, the National Security Council's Senior Director for European Affairs, testified before Congress on Thursday that he heard nothing illegal on the phone call between President Donald J. Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Morrison also reportedly testified that the transcript released by the White House was accurate.

Morrison also testified that the memorandum of the call released by the White House is accurate to his recollection and he does not know the WB's identity. Story soon.

The Federalist is also reporting this according to transcripts obtained by the outlet.

“I want to be clear, I was not concerned that anything illegal was discussed,” former NSC Senior Director for European Affairs Tim Morrison testified today, according to Sean Davis.

"My recollection is that Ambassador Sondland’s proposal to [Ukrainian National Security Advisor Andriy] Yermak was that it could be sufficient if the new Ukrainian prosecutor general — not President Zelensky — would commit to pursue the Burisma investigation, Morrison testified according to the Federalist.

“I am pleased our process gave the president the confidence he needed to approve the release of the security sector assistance,” he added. “I am proud of what I have been able, in some small way, to help the Trump administration accomplish."

After a government whistleblower came forward, Congressional Democrats accused President Trump of offering an illegal quid pro quo, pressuring the Ukrainian government to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden in exchange for military aid. On Thursday, they voted to conduct an official impeachment inquiry into President Trump's actions.

This is a breaking news post and will be updated as needed.

Levin said that this impeachment vote was still a farce in that they basically voted to continue the same as before (completely against all other impeachment process) so it will continue to be in the dark basically.

Haven't honestly looked much into it but wouldn't be surprised.

Democratic lawmakers have offered 95 reasons to impeach trump since February 2017.
Of late they were considering thinking about contemplating if they should wonder about a resolution.
Now they're pursuing an inquiry, which, if it doesn't lead to impeachment, will not harm Democrats
in 2020.  They'll simply move on to something else, and then something else, etc., with unending
cover from our legacy media.

If it leads to impeachment, I expect a lot of Democratic seats would be imperiled, and Trump would
still sail to victory in 2020.

Sounds like someone who says that want a tattoo, but no idea what they want, so they go shop for one.

Rather than someone who has something meaningful, and wants a tattoo of it.

I believe you are wrong. It was and still is an impeachment inquiry. The vote simply formalized it. Impeachment is probably the foregone conclusion of this process. But, don't bet the farm on it. Anything can happen at this point

Speaker Pelosi has now made it official.
With a few more interviews and hearings, the full house should be voting to impeach Pres Trump, soon.

Then, it will be on the senate and a long shot trial at getting 20 republicans to join dems in Trump's removal.

Communist clown show

ZERO Republicans and 3 dems voted against it. It will not only die in the house but this will guarantee the biggest 2020 landslide any country has ever seen but the Repubs will win back the Senate and fuck the left in the ass.

Have I told you how much I HATE our "elected" left?

Shut up Howard. There's nothing constitutional about this process. You're a reminder of why I tell my high schoolers that if they don't get an athletic scholarship for college, don't go. Go to a trade school. Go to college and come out dumber than when you went in.

Do you coach for a high school or independently? I'm not sure the school administration would not approve of your giving this advice to their students.
