Recently deployed to irak.. was 40km sud-east of mossoul and people worked and lived confortably even though ISIS strong points were closeby and shit could go down any seconds

They pay big bucks to do contractor security work in these Muslim hell holes. The only problem is when they come for you it will be in greater numbers than your security man power or with a vehicle bomb.  I know a guy that did and he made a mint for a short civilian deployment.  He was a Army vet and worked as a State Trooper. Retired from the State Police and did that work for awhile. Lucky for him he got back uninjured.

I think if you are in a dictatorship its different. when I was in iran there were signs by checkpoints saying stop or we will shoot you. I got detained for 30 minutes by secret police and in the end I said either let me go or I want to speak to the embassy. they let me go. I had been near where Ranfansjani was speaking. In egypt when they had the Islamic insurgency, I was more scared of the police than the terrorists, if something kicked off i think they would have sprayed anything that moved. For example outside the main TV and radio offices they had BTPs and guys with RPGs, eventhough the traffic infront was always slow moving.
