Talk to books. New online access to knowledge.
« on: November 18, 2019, 11:37:06 PM »
I was watching a very interesting presentation by Ray Kurzweil.

He is optimistic about the future and the benefits of technology.

Information is increasing exponentially and there is now an online resource by Google called Talk to Books.

You can do an 'Experiment' to search a question, concept or a few words.

I did one on Internet Forums and it generated many excerpts from books and journals relevant to the question.

"The data and insight these communities can provide you with is astounding! Forums are trustworthy safe havens for many people who just want to go learn and discuss things related to their hobbies. Depending on the source you reference, 15–20 percent of Americans use forums and message boards to talk about or recommend...(view in book)
from Social Media Made Me Rich: Here's How it Can do the Same for You
by Matthew Loop Morgan James Publishing, 2016 ⦁ Current events ⦁ Philosophy and Self-help"

So Getbig is a trustworthy safe haven for people wanting to discuss bodybuilding!!

You can then open each reference to read more detail about what is written. You can't view the info in some books.

You get a link to books that you can buy. Ah, so Google figured out another way to generate income!

Click on "Launch experiment".

Nice. But lack of knowledge isn't the problem, it is lack of intelligence. You can't lift low IQ by reading, and that is the main problem with these dorks in this forum. Low IQ means that you can read all you want, but will you understand what you read in correct way? Nope. You can give a book to the ape, and it seem to be interested by it, but at the end, it just tear the pages of and throw them in the air. It is just same with these dorks: after few pages they start to get a feeling that there is some learning involved this, and they go apeshit because of that shock  ;D

Books can make you smart, you can borrow amazing insight from brilliant minds and this is a big advantage.
But you can't out perform a high iq individual if you have mediocre iq.
I am a realtor with an average iq, I have brilliant colleague, he has lightning fast mind with amazing ability to connect ideas and knowledge.
During our conversations I have hard time following his vast portfolio, connections and solutions.
So high iq is definitely an asset, a high iq person can literally learn on the go.
So mediocres need books and extra effort to be competitive, highly intelligent fellow don't depend on them, but if they also happen to read a lot they lead by a land mile...

IQ tests are only reliable if you take time to learn how to do them, you get better with practice...

Some people who score low on IQ tests are still capable of making a mark and earning a decent salary, and some who score high are thick as pigshit if you have a conversation with them.

Ronnie Cloeman managed to get two degrees and become a cop, yet listening to him talk wouldnt inspire you with confidence that he was intelligent, and the fact that hes still throwing weights around after all his health issues hint at him not being all that bright...

I would say the strongest indicator of practical intelligence is the capacity for n-level deductive reasoning where n increases with intelligence.

What I mean by that is that how many participating pieces of information can be retained and worked with before the subject saturates and often makes a faulty conclusion based on their cache (which becomes a subset) of these supporting facts

Or they just guess - which is common in subjects who saturate.

Have a listen to what Jordan Peterson has to say about IQ.

Your IQ has to be above average to even comprehend what you are saying!

What you wrote hurts, here is why, one of my super sharp, high level executive client, said, "you jump into conclusions way to early, with limited facts, yes you definitely seem to accumulated quite bit of knowledge but still, you need to be patient to make bold assumptions"
I guess, my lousy cache saturates way to early, I feel like C64, thanks!

Jordan tells us that lifting weights can help postpone loss of IQ as we age. Who would have thought that?

Problem with most of you guys is that you think that you are intelligent, while everybody else see you thick as pigshit if they have a conversation with you. You are just too dumb to understand it.. ;D
