It was a jokey response - Hence the laughing faces
I’m aware of the Excuses for the window failure, though that still
Doesn’t deflect from it not look great on a “Show day”
I think it's a pity that it distracted some journalists from the real news. And it was used as clickbait by many lesser media. (Some people even thought it was done on purpose, as if such an extreme truck needed even more media attention :-)
Nevertheless, Tesla does not advertise, and they don't make very expensive handbuilt showcars or "vision concepts" that people can never buy but are just used so journalists have something to write about (When old car manufacturers have no real new stuff to show I guess...)
Some car brands spend up to 2,000 usd on advertising / promotion per sold car....ultimately it's the customer who has to pay for it all
(Although nobody has to buy new, for 95% of private buyers second hand is the smart way to go, ask Scotty Kilmer :-)
www.youtube.com/user/scottykilmer/videosGM and FCA really don't like this guy ;-)
