Its no different than these losers who spend all this time and money on fake football leagues.. not all women are like that to be honest my wife is pretty cool her ring cost 4k yes but the one she 1st picked out was 2500.00 I got the one for 4k and remember this was 1998 we had 150 people at our wedding she always asked for my input I said do what makes you happy...

The basic reason is that woman, want a SHOW.

It harkens back to ye olde days, when men gave the brides father 2 mules and a sheep for her hand in marriage.
She provided regular sex, birthed children , cooked, cleaned , etc.
He supported her and the children in exchange for her listed services above.

Giving a diamond ring has only been common since the 1940's.
The DeBeers company came up with the slogan ;" A diamond is forever"
Lots of single men came back from WWII and had the desire and resources to give their girl a special ring.


The problem is these customs are all outdated and don't apply to the modern world for females.
 For example, the wedding veil started back in biblical times to cover the brides face before she married.
 These were arranged marriages and promoted by the families of the wed couple.

Woman today want it all and it's a skewed perspective.

You can't have a lucrative , successful career with independence and demand to be treated like a dependent with no money.

Diamonds are not an investment -- they are a retail product like any other. People explain away spending thousands of dollars on a little stone because they mistakenly believe that the diamond is a solid investment. Are there any other investment classes where the person selling you the asset makes a minimum 10 percent profit margin (usually much more)? Most people would be lucky to get half of what they paid if they tried to sell a ring the day after they bought it. Don't fool yourself into thinking that buying a diamond is a safe place to put away money for a rainy day.we were tricked into thinking they are rare when they are not their are billions of diamonds stashed away and they are brought into the market slowly
