My aunt told me if you have no hair loss whatsoever by age 26, your hair will more or less be there to stay.
In other words, even a 22-year-old is probably showing tiny signs of losing his hair. Which is consistent with a lot of my friends from high school. One of them was showing minor signs of hair loss by age 17. He will be turning 40 in the Spring, and he is clearly balding by now.
So I would think my aunt was right with her 26 years old figure.
I have heard that hair loss comes from the mother's side of the family. Does anyone know if that's true? My friend and his two brothers are losing their hair, and their dad is bald from ear to ear. I'm not sure what the males on his mother's side look like - but their hair loss looks like their dad's hair loss does. It could be the same on both sides though.
