With Scott Kirby's recent promotion to CEO of United Airlines, The America West takeover of the US airlines industry is complete.

How did it happen?


In the mid-1990s a small Phoenix carrier named America West Airlines assembled a team of managers - Doug Parker, Robert Isom, and Scott Kirby.  Today, Doug Parker is CEO of American Airlines, Robert Isom is President of American Airlines,  and Scott Kirby is CEO of United Airlines.

I work in the aerospace industry. I've been on multiple aircraft launch teams and have worked defense, commercial, and space.  I had the opportunity to get my pilots license, but choose not to.
