He might be right you know. For as much as I'll get shit for this by some of the hardcore Lee fans, Bruce Lee was an actor. He wasn't a professional fighter. Yes, the man had martial arts training and looked great on film, but he did not make a living from fighting. There were a few obscure mentions of him taking part in some pseudo-sanctioned fights and what not, but none of us were around when these fights occurred.

I think Bruce Lee today would get his ass kicked by a professional fighter. He would get fucked up by most professional boxers (short of the few that fall for his kicks) and certainly would be destroyed by professional MMA fighters.

He would have still been the same height, but certainly thicker. Don't know if it would have lent itself well to his movie-star looks. For a skinny Chinese dude, he wasn't typical looking. He had a good mug on 'em and probably had his way with the Asian ladies. Add weight to his frame and a moonface and not sure if he would still be camera friendly (probably look more like this fella below).

Bruce Lee probably at least experimented with steroids, a few of his students/training partners insist he dabbled. John Little (a major Lee schmoe) got a hold of Lee's training journals a couple of decades ago, a decent amount of steroid articles, clippings, etc.... were in with them.

If you can make millions by pretend fighting, why would you willingly pick real fighting to slowly crawl into a predicament where you can "maybe" make the same money well after a point that your long-term cerebral health is in question? A large amount of professional boxers and MMA fighters will be eating their food out of a straw at the rate that they are going. Are the professional fighters the modern day gladiators of our time? Damn right. Will they be of sound mind enough to be around for, let alone play with their grandchildren? I don't know man.
